Have you joined in any daily challenges on Instagram? I decided I would join Laney Galligan for her 365 Things I Know this year. I love it but there are certainly days when I have to give myself permission to leave it and catch up later. Life is busy and there is not always that right moment to stop, take a picture and post it. So I’ve been trying to catch up recently.
One day I’ll get back to speed. And that’s OK.

Day 51
Some days it does feel like the projects keep me from going nuts! Life is busy and so much of my life as a Mum is spent looking after others. Being creative helps me take time out and refocus on what is important.

Day 52
Dad would be proud. Today I taught my bored 10-year-old the game of 52 Pickup, a special card game for bored children. Do you know it?
{Hint: it involves lots of picking up cards that have been “accidentally” dropped.}
Day 53
This project is close to finished – only one more blossom to stitch! Design from Indigo Niche.
Read more about this project here.
Day 54
It is interesting to see which new shops are coming to our local shopping centre – lots of Big W & Kmart shirts in the food court today. Any clues on what else, Grand Central? Pretty please?
Day 55
I’m mostly a self-taught crafter and it amazes me how many tutorials are available on the web to learn almost any new skill – including sewing! We are really very fortunate that so many bloggers are sharing their knowledge for free.

Day 56
Straight line quilting always looks good and it really is super simple.
I learnt to do straight line quilting using this Craftsy class.
Day 57
Last blossom done but now I need opinions. The flower centres are traditionally little knots but I’m thinking about substituting tiny seed beads instead. What do you think? Comment {A} for Knots : {B} for Beads

Day 58
That cooler weather is coming and my crochet blankets are getting snuggled on the couch again. This rainbow one is still one of my all-time favourites.
Learn how to make this crochet blanket here.
Day 59
Having some clever tools makes my quilting projects easier and quicker – and more fun!
Read more about my quilting tools here.
Day 60
There is something very special about finding fabric you had completely forgotten about in your stash.
Read about how to store fabric here.
