I know more than I realised.
I know about sewing and crochet and quilting. But I also know about cleaning and housekeeping and being a mum. I know about things that make me smile and how to make my kids smile. It really is interesting to see what things I know and which ones pop into my head each day!
This project is fun!

Day 71
It is “Murphy’s Law” that just when you find time to sit at your sewing machine, it will have a problem and not work properly! My Top Tips: 1. Clean out all the fluff and dust from inside the bobbin casing and around the top of the needle. 2. Check that the bobbin is in the right way. 3. Change the needle – a fresh needle can sometimes be the answer. 4. Rethread the needle all the way from the spool in case it has slipped out of one of the holders.
Read more of my tips over here.
Day 72
Wynne the Bunny is loving how green our grass looks after the rain. Me too!
Find out where to get the pattern for Wynne the Bunny here.
Day 73
My new laptop slipcase is making me smile. I used a mini charm square pack called LOVE and I’ve written a tutorial so you can sew one too.
Day 74
Sometimes it is fun to try something new so I designed a T-shirt.
Day 75
A quick trip to the Gold Coast means spotting gorgeous mosaic tables at Coco Cubano – love the new Patio at Pacific Fair !
Day 76
The decorative stitches on my sewing machine are cool and I should use them more. This is stitch 44 on my Pfaff Performance 2054 – a tiny blanket stitch set at 2.5 for stitch width and 1.5 for stitch length. Perfect for a little leaf appliqué. A little project coming soon with Fat Quarter Shop and fabric by Beyond the Reef Patterns for Windham Fabrics
See the finished project here.
Day 77
I might be nervous to try new things in real life but I’ll try new YARN any day! This new to Spotlight Caron Cakes yarn just NEEDED to come home with me.
Day 78
Whenever I do patchwork, I am grateful for nesting seams. This clever trick makes all my points match up nicely.
Learn more about nesting seams here.
Day 79
It is nearly tulip time! Stay tuned
See the Dutch Tulips project here.
Day 80
Binding is my favourite part of a quilting project because it means I’m nearly finished.
